Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced their results for class x which registered a pass percentage of 87.08 per cent.Girls outshone boys yet again in the examinations with an impressive pass percentage of 87.96 per cent. Boys' pass percentage was 86.46 per cent.Out of the six exam regions, Chennai topped the list of pass percentage with 95.26 per cent followed by Ajmer (94.22 per cent), Allahabad (89.10), Panchkula (89.07), Delhi (82.87) and Guwahati (57.29).A total of 7,65,095 candidates, including 4,49,742 boys, had registered for the exam held in March this year.The board had announced the results of the Chennai region on May 27. Results of the rest five region were announced on Thursday at 8 am.

GGSIPU

GGSIPU (Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University) conducts Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to different engineering, technological and scientific disciplines at undergraduate level programmes leading to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree. Admission to 6 years dual degree M.Tech) programme and lateral entry to Engineering Diploma holders in different B.Tech. programmes is also offered through GGSIPU CET.

Eligibility: For B.Tech & M.Tech. (Dual Degree) Engineering programmes a candidate must have passed the 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

For B.Tech. / M.Tech. (Dual Degree) Biotechnology programmes a candidate must have passed in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Biotechnology.

Candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study (core or elective) in the qualifying examination.

For Lateral Entry B. Tech. programmes a candidate must have passed in three-years diploma with a minimum of 60% marks from any recognized Diploma awarding institute / university / board recognized by AICTE in any of the following branches of Engg./ Technology:

Computer Engg; Automobile Engg; Chemical Engg, Civil Engg, Construction Engg., Electrical Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical Engg., Maintenance Engg., Plastic Engg., Printing Technology, Production Engg., Public Health & Environmental Engg., Tool & Die Making.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes / Widows or Wards of Defence Personnel / Physical Handicapped are allowed 5% relaxation of marks in the minimum eligibility requirement.

The maximum age limit for all undergraduate programmes where minimum qualification standard is 12th pass is 21 years. For lateral entry to B.Tech. programmes, the maximum age limit is 35 years.

GGSIPU CET Test Pattern: The test consists of multiple-choice questions with four answers for each question. There are a total of 150 questions with 4 marks allotted for each correct answer and 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
